McKay Lake is a small, spring-fed lake within the part of Ottawa that was the former Village of Rockcliffe Park. The lake is home to many birds, from Canada Geese to Herons, with Red-Winged Blackbirds being the most common. The most memorable time is early spring, just after dark, when the “spring chorus” of young frogs are in fine form.
